Toni Cramond Realtor

The Collection Real Estate by JLA Realty

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I worked as an elementary teacher for 15 years.

Where did you grow up?
Houston, Texas

Growing up, what did you want to be?
An astronaut

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Hang out by the pool, go to brunch or happy hour, spend time with family and friends and binge Netflix.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Former President Barack Obama. I am in awe of him, his work ethic, his knowledge and his success.

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
Market Street in The Woodlands. There is so much to see and do there from high end shopping, experiencing live music, kayaking, going to the spa, and fantastic restaurants. We always take visitors there and it’s one of our favorite places to relax and unwind.

What do you love most about the industry?
Helping clients achieve their real estate dreams/goals, especially first-time homebuyers. They think the homebuying process is daunting, so educating and empowering them throughout the transaction and being with them at closing is such an amazing and gratifying experience.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
This is a fast paced industry and there is always something going on, something to do, or somewhere to be, so the most difficult aspect is trying to do “all the things.”

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Get active in your community! Volunteer, host neighborhood events, join a sports league, become a member of the PTO. Get out there and meet people. You can make new friends while adding to your database…win-win!

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
I’m currently reading “The Dealmaker” by Mauricio Umansky and I am re-reading “Ninja Selling” with my team. I faithfully listen to “The Real Estate Bestie” and the “Hustle Humbly” podcasts. I don’t watch much TV, except for “Real Housewives.”

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
The crab cakes from Mastro’s Ocean Club in The Woodlands.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Bank of America Center downtown

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I was showing a home to a client and we were chased into the house by two pit bulls. We got in safely, but we couldn’t get out because the dogs stayed by the front door the entire time. I had to call 911 and a sheriff officer came out to get rid of the dogs and my client and I ran back to our vehicles!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I am a huge Disney fan!

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Anywhere with a beach and palm trees because the water is so peaceful and calming.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Get a mentor, invest in your business, don’t give up!
