by Emily Marek

New listings were up 14.1% in Houston during the week ended Sept. 4, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors entered 2,853 properties into the Multiple Listing Service during the week, up from 2,500 during the same week in 2022. New listings were also 7.5% higher than they were in 2019.

Pending listings, however, fell 13.5% during the week, with 1,798 listings going under contract.

Closings fell by 5%, with 1,966 single-family homes selling during the week compared to 2,070 a year prior.

Despite decreased sales activity, property showings were up by 7% year over year, while listing views on HAR.com were up 27.4% year over year.
