First America Homes, the homebuilding division of The Signorelli Company, celebrated a ribbon-cutting for eight duplexes in Angel Reach Village, a Conroe development to house youth at risk for homelessness. The ceremony took place on Dec. 4.

First America Homes’ duplexes in Angel Reach Village will provide shelter and support for 32 people, aged 16 to 24, who have aged out of foster care or need housing due to other circumstances. Each duplex contains two 550-square-foot apartments with two bedrooms and one bathroom. The first residents are expected to move in later this month.

“Building better places that enrich lives is what we do, so applying our skills and resources to build safe homes for these young people is an honor,” Danny Signorelli, CEO of The Signorelli Company, said in a press release. “We need to give a huge thank you to Mayor Jody Czajkoski and Councilmembers Todd Yancey and Curt Maddux for all of their help.”

“The Angel Reach project has been an incredible opportunity for our team to come together to help change the trajectory of many lives for generations to come, right here in our backyard,” said Dave Barnhart, president of First America Homes. “It was a privilege to be a part of it.”

First America Homes isn’t the only builder in the village, though: Grace Point Homes recently constructed five duplexes in Angel Reach Village, while HomeAid will build three duplexes in partnership with LevelTx.

In addition to providing safe shelter, Angel Reach will provide residents with behavioral health counseling, life skills classes and employment resources.

“It takes a village to address the growing problem of youth homelessness,” said Angel Reach Executive Director Jean Radach. “We are so grateful to The Signorelli Company for the many ways they have contributed to making this transformative development possible.”
