Closings edge 1.5% higher in Houston

Closed home sales rose 1.5% year over year in Houston during the week ended Dec. 15, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Buyers purchased 1,517 homes, up from 1,494 during the same week in 2024. Pending sales, however, declined 7.3%, with 1,577 listings going under contract.

At the same time, Realtors added 2,785 properties to the MLS, an 8.2% year-over-year bump.

Judging by traffic at listing appointments, homebuyer interest also increased: Property showings rose 3.8% year over year and open houses jumped 28%.
