Alex Rezende
Owner and Team Leader
RE/MAX Prestige
For Alex Rezende, handing over the house key to a new homeowner is the most exciting and rewarding thing he gets to do. He loves sharing the joy of this significant, life-changing event. As the owner and team leader for RE/MAX Prestige in Houston, Rezende’s enthusiasm is contagious. A natural-born leader known for his diligence, empathy and unfailing work ethic, he grew his business from one single agent to a highly successful team that now ranks in the top 10 of Houston and the top 100 in the U.S. Among other distinctions, he holds a place in the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and also the Chairman Circle Awards (their highest honor).
Rezende’s real estate career started in 2004 when he decided to follow in his grandfather’s footsteps and get involved in the property business. He got in touch with a friend selling new homes, interviewed for a job as a sales consultant, created a uniquely memorable website (www.NewHomeDude.com), and went on to become a full-time agent in 2009. Today, Rezende enjoys working with all kinds of clients, but the bulk of his business is first-time buyers and move-up sellers. “I like to think of my business as helping people achieve the American Dream, one home at a time,” he says.
Well respected among clients and peers, Rezende measures his success not so much by the numbers, but how he’s been able to make a difference in people’s lives. “Helping families in need is a cause that is close to my heart,” he says. For example, he helped a couple in their 40s who had never owned a home, diligently working over a period of 15 months on such tasks as putting financing together and painstakingly searching for a place they could afford. He found it. Another favorite success story involves an older buyer who had lost her husband and did not know what to do next. He guided her through the sale of her home with great sensitivity, and she rewards him to this day by continually referring new clients.
As for giving back to the community, Rezende is more of a quiet philanthropist. Known by everyone as a person who is principled, faithful and willing to go the extra mile, he has a penchant for people in need. Right now, he is helping a few young FFA ladies with the Cy-Fair FFA, and he has also raised funds for a $1,000 scholarship for local kids. Rezende enjoys sports, good music, good food and, above all, his family.
