D'Evereaux Baum-Moore is a new home specialist and Realtor for Intero Real Estate Services West Ave in Katy.

What was your first job in the realty industry?
Receptionist/office manager/assistant to approximately 20 agents at ERA Stephens Properties on Augusta Drive.

Where did you grow up?
My father was also in the real estate business and we moved all over Houston quite often. Mainly grew up in Spring/Tomball and then the Katy area.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
Taking our wakeboard boat to Lake Houston or Conroe and spending time with my family.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
When I am stressed I love to go to Galveston and sit on the beach, watching the ocean. It always breathes a new perspective on things and recharges my batteries!

Growing up, what did you want to be?
A fashion model on the runway and in magazines.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Donald Trump fascinates me, and I would love to pick his brain!

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
Any body of water!

What do you love most about the industry?
That moment at closing when keys are handed over and my happy clients are yelling, crying and jumping up and down. It makes my job wonderful to know that I helped someone achieve the goal of homeownership.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I try to be different and very up front with people and think outside the box. I specialize in new construction; after working for several builders, I have great construction knowledge.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
I would have to say that the most difficult for me is trying to understand why some people don’t really work hard enough to repair their credit or listen to advice on how to do it so that I can truly help them get into a home. On the other hand, some people do work hard at it and listen to advice, and then we get to that closing table and that makes it so worth it!

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
Everyone presents an opportunity for me; on a daily basis there is a way for me to find new clients, whether it be out and about or on the Internet!

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
I would say raising my daughter to be a good and caring person is my greatest accomplishment.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
“The Lorax” by Dr. Seuss was pretty amazing, and has such a good message to the world.

What is your favorite restaurant?
I love Hungry’s Cafe & Bistro on Memorial!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Cockrell Butterfly Center building is beautiful.

What kind of car do you drive?
A Dodge Magnum; basically a sleek station wagon for this century!

Smartphone or Paper?
Both!

What is your favorite city after Houston?
Austin, Texas I absolutely LOVE!

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Love what you do, and knowledge is POWER!

What’s your favorite Real Estate iPhone/ Blackberry app?
Har.com is a my favorite app!

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?
Houston businesses!
