Agent Snapshot: Chase Coleman, Team Leader, RE/MAX, Houston

Chase-Coleman2

Chase Coleman is a team leader with RE/MAX in Houston.

What was your first job in the realty industry? Part-time property manager in 2008

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Meditate

Where did you grow up? Houston

Growing up, what did you want to be? Football player

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Michael Jordan. He’s arguably the best player in his sport, out of any of the sports. I would want to know his “why” and learn about how he maintained such a high level of mental focus.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Texans games

What do you love most about the industry? All the different people I get to meet and the fact that I am a business owner.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I am a real estate agent, but I run everything like a business. I have staff, am incorporated, do P&Ls and I am a W-2 employee. Also the marketing and exposure that we offer nobody can touch – sounds cocky, but I truly believe it.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Managing people

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Everything outside the industry. Ball games, community events, business owners when my wife and I are shopping or eating out.

What has been you greatest accomplishment? Nominated for RE/MAX rookie of the year and co-hosting a real estate radio show.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?

What is your favorite restaurant? Pho VN 21 off Bellaire LOL. Cheap and awesome!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston? I love all the new modern designs with the urban zen type feel. Straight lines with tans, grays, and greenery.

What kind of car do you drive? Toyota Prius. Of course being a realtor I drive everywhere!

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone

What is your favorite city after Houston? Austin. Went to school there and I will probably end up there again one day.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Don’t ever stop prospecting.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? HAR. Especially since I am on the HAR technology board.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? @HoustonAgentMag of course!

I work for Energy Realty off Eldridge Pkwy after being with Keller/Williams for 7 years. Worked in the Tennis Industry (Majority teaching) for the past 20 yrs and swore I would NEVER do real estate because this was my mothers career. However, this was my only ticket to get out of a bad marriage and it turned out to be a good choice for me. Worked in the Woodlands and moved to Rice/Military 2 yrs ago. Love this job (most of the time)
