Houston’s Top Neighborhoods for Millennials and Families

by James McClister

A study from NerdWallet aims to help Millennials and families streamline their home searches in Houston.

Houston’s diversity is one of its most attractive selling points, but also something of a hindrance when it comes time for families and young, first-time homebuyers to determine their ideal neighborhood. Juggling affordability, budget, amenities and access to transportation is a task nearing herculean when set to the bustling backdrop of everyday life.

In an effort to streamline the search, researchers from consumer finance resource NerdWallet examined a variety of social and economic factors to determine the city’s top neighborhoods for both Millennials and families, assuming young adults were unmarried renters wanting to live near other young people and families were looking for neighborhoods with “a high concentration of other families, stable neighbors and a healthy economy.”

Check out our infographic below to see which neighborhoods came out on top, as well as measures for home value, renters and population changes.
