Tashia Williams Platinum REALTOR, Quest Real Estate

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I was a hairstylist, owning 2 salons in Houston and Katy

Where did you grow up?
Born and raised in Houston, Texas.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
A singer. I come from a musical family and spent most of my childhood playing instruments and studying performing arts.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Sleep because in my dreams, the stresses of life don’t exist.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Michelle Obama — her determination, eloquence and poise are unmatched.

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
The Houstonian — that place is a true oasis and the service is first class.

What do you love most about the industry?
From single moms, low income families, people with credit challenges… It’s so rewarding when I can help someone overcome their circumstances and achieve their goal of home ownership when they never thought they could.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Babysitting! In order to best represent my clients, I have to manage every aspect of the transaction from start to close. I can never just assume that people are doing their jobs.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Always provide exceptional service! Your clients will share their experience with anyone that’ll listen. Their testimonials will generate leads for you without them even trying.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
The Young and The Restless (don’t judge me, lol)

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
Soul food.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Astrodome.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
Apparently, my client’s teenage son had a crush on me. During a showing, he waited until mom wasn’t looking and asked me out on a date — cute but definitely awkward!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I’m really shy. You would never know it from my outward personality and because my career constantly requires me to interact and engage, but naturally I’m a real introvert.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Dubai — the natives treat you like royalty, the architecture is amazing and because the criminal system is so strict, it’s really safe there.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Real estate is a full time commitment.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
Pages related to business, entrepreneurship, real estate and spiritual motivation.
