New listings are still down compared to last year, according to HAR’s weekly activity snapshot.

New listings in Houston declined 8.2% year over year to 2,680 properties in the week ended Sept. 12, the Houston Association of REALTORS® said, citing the Multiple Listing Service.

Pending listings were down from 2021 as well, with a 31.1% drop, while off-market listings rose 14.6%.

HAR also noted in their report that closings have decreased for the 14th week in a row, with a 25.2% drop from the same period last year.

Traffic at showings has actually increased since 2021, with attendance jumping 18.5% to more than over 33,500 in the week ended Sept. 12.
