Ana Gonzalez Realtor

Monarch Real Estate & Ranch

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Honestly, I probably hated every other job I had before getting in to Real Estate. I just loved the people I worked with! I built some great relationships throughout the years due to my jobs.

Where did you grow up?
I was born in Spring Branch. At age 6, my family made the move to Katy and I lived there until about two years ago.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
Growing up, I wanted to be a lawyer. I come from a family of lawyers so watching them was very inspiring.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I cook! Recently, I have been obsessed with TikTok recipes. So, I will hop on there, search a good recipe and cook away!

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
This is probably every girl’s dream…but I would love to meet Luke Bryan. He just seems so down to earth and just warm. Other than admiring his face, I think he would give some great advice on juggling family and work life.

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
The Downtown Houston tunnel system situated 20 feet beneath the skyscrapers with six miles of retail stores and shopping.

What do you love most about the industry?
All the connections you make in this industry. I have truly enjoyed meeting new people that have become friends.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
The most difficult aspect of my job is dealing with different personalities, not just clients but even other realtors or any party of the transaction. You really have to learn how to talk to different types of people in a gentle way, but also know to stand up for yourself when needed (the professional way, of course).

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Get in front and spoil the people you grew up with. They could lead to a huge source of your lead generation especially when you are getting started. Stop throwing your money and time away on cold call leads you pay for online and invest in people you actually like.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
I am binge watching Love Is Blind like everyone else right now (I love me some drama) and Next Level Chef. I have always been a fan of Chef Ramsay’s cooking challenges. I am currently reading It Starts With Us. I will say, it isn’t as good as It Ends With Us but it keeps you wanting to continue reading. I’m also currently listening to The Purpose Show podcast. It’s about a mom juggling owning her own business and family life. I 10/10 recommend!

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
My favorite meal in Houston is sushi! We have some of the best sushi restaurants in my opinion!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The Williams Tower for sure!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
One thing people might be surprised about is that I have been in the real estate business since I was 21 years old (nine years).

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
To be honest, I haven’t really traveled much, but out of the places I have gone to my favorite would have to be my mom’s home town of Monterrey, Mexico. On top of how beautiful it is, there is always something to do or explore.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Always think outside the box.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
My favorite page to follow on social media is The Broke Agent (if you are ever having a rough day in Real Estate and need a chuckle, definitely go on over to their IG).

What are your social media handles?
Instagram: @anasellsrealestate_htx
