New listings — still — on the rise in Houston

by Emily Marek

New listings again surpassed 2022 volumes during the 50th week of the year, according to the latest Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors entered 2,283 properties into the MLS during the week: a 13.9% increase year over year. That’s also an increase of 13.6% from pre-pandemic volumes.

Both pending and closed listings, however, trailed 2022 volumes during the week. Pending listings fell 3%, with 1,559 properties going under contract compared to 1,607 a year prior. Closings, meanwhile, dropped 8.5%, with 1,444 homes sold, down from 1,578.
