New listings again outpaced 2023 levels in the second week of the year, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors entered 2,802 listings into the MLS, a 13.9% increase over the same week in 2023, when 2,460 properties were added to the market.

Both pending and closed listings fell, however. Pending listings fell 8.5% year over year, with 1,676 properties going under contract; closings fell 3.6% year over year, with 1,008 homes sold.

Meanwhile, traffic at property showings and listing views on HAR.com both decreased from year-ago volumes.
