Closed home sales increased 17.7% in Houston during the week ended Dec. 9, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® (HAR).
Realtors closed 1,500 sales, up from 1,275 during the same week in 2023. Pending sales decreased annually, however, with 1,600 homes going under contract. That’s a 5.5% drop from a year prior, when there were 1,693 pending listings.
Listing activity picked up following the Thanksgiving slump — Realtors added 2,913 properties to the MLS, a 34.1% increase year over year.
Meanwhile, property showings and listing views on HAR.com rose by 3.5% and 30.2%, respectively.
