New, pending listings keep pace with year-ago volumes in Houston as closings decline

The Houston Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS.

New and pending listings increased marginally over 2025 volumes during the week ending May 11, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS® — but closed home sales dropped, the association reported.

Realtors helped sellers add 4,234 properties to the MLS, up 1% year over year. Meanwhile, 2,481 listings went under contract, up 0.4% year over year.

Closings decreased 6.1% year over year, though, with buyers purchasing 1,652 homes during the week, down from 1,760 a year prior.

Behaviors indicating consumer interest increased during the week, with showings rising 8.8% year over year and listing views on HAR.com increased 3.8% annually.
