The Trails, a master-planned community in New Caney, announced an expanded builder lineup and construction of a retail shopping center and five-acre amenity campus.

First America Homes, the homebuilding arms of The Signorelli Company, is joining the existing builders in the community’s second phase of development, which include Chesmar Homes, Lennar and Westin Homes.

First America will begin construction this fall, with plans for a model home debut before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, at The Trails’ Grand Parkway entrance, Fidelis Realty Partners began construction on Trails at the Parkway, a large-scale shopping center. The commercial real estate company also acquired an additional 11.6 acres for Trails Market, which will feature additional retail and dining offerings.

Construction is also underway on The Amenity Campus, which will be home to The Landing, an indoor venue with seating areas, a kitchenette and HOA offices.

“Our second phase is fully committed to builders, new retail is taking shape at our entrance, new amenities are under construction and important infrastructure improvements are now complete,” said Tiffany McMillan, vice president of asset management for Castle Hill Partners, The Trails’ developer. “It all comes together to give today’s homeowners what they’re looking for — a choice of new homes at attainable prices, amenities and outdoor recreation, nearby retail conveniences and easy access to major employment centers.”

Further progress at The Trails includes the addition of two new trail loops, which are now part of nearly 600 acres of nature trails and undeveloped land within the community.

Just outside of the MPC, the expansion of Plum Grove Road is now complete, adding an extra lane of traffic in each direction, as well as a landscaped median and traffic lights at the intersection with the Grand Parkway.

Upon completion, The Trails will feature over 2,000 homesites. Sales are currently underway, with pricing starting in the upper $200,000s.
