New listings increase again in Houston

by Emily Marek

More sellers put their homes on the market during the week ended April 28 than during the same week in 2024, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Real estate agents added 4,001 new listings to the MLS, a 15.5% increase year over year.

Both pending and closed listings fell, however. Pending listings decreased 1% year over year, with 2,352 homes going under contract; closings decreased 4.3% year over year, with 1,833 homes sold.

Agents held 10,373 open houses, up from 6,746 a year prior.
