Both closed and pending listings increased in Houston during the week ended May 12, according to the Weekly Activity Snapshot from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.
Closings jumped 10.4% year over year, with 1,759 home sales during the week. Pending listings, meanwhile, rose 2.6% year over year, with 2,392 listings going under contract.
Houston inventory also got a healthy dose of new listings as Realtors added 4,362 properties to the MLS. That’s a 21.6% year-over-year bump.
Off-market listings also increased by 40% annually, with 1,986 listings pulled from the MLS.
Consumer traffic at property showings increased from 2024 volumes, signaling strong consumer interest for the spring homebuying season. Houstonians visited over 41,000 showings during the week, up 2.7% year over year, and attended over 8,000 open-houses, up 36% year over year.
