What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I started my career at a young age in automobile sales, a career that sharpened my ability to build trust, read people and close deals. Later, I owned a restaurant.

Where did you grow up?
Beaumont

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I actually always dreamed of becoming a businessman. I’ve been passionate about building ventures, creating opportunities, and leading from an early age.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I like to listen to smooth jazz. It’s my reset button.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I would meet my late wife, Tammy. She passed away from colon cancer in September 2023. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. Tammy was my anchor and the love of my life. I’d want her to know the boys and I are okay and doing well.

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
The underground tunnel system downtown. It’s one of the Houston’s hidden treasures and related to the story of the city’s history and ingenuity.

What do you love most about the industry?
The ability to control my own time. This business offers me freedom and flexibility. With that, I can then shape my own future the way I see fit.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Helping clients understand complex documents and why they matter. It definitely requires patience and clarity, but it’s an essential step in the real estate transaction process.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Real estate is a people business. Success comes from showing up and making connections. So it’s important to socialize, attend professional and community events, let people you meet know what you do and pass out your business cards.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
Watching “Paradise,” reading “The Secret Life of Real Estate and Banking” and listening to Gospel music.

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
Cajun dishes

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
The JPMorgan Chase Tower

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
Watching a woman tongue kiss her dog during a showing — pretty unforgettable!

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
That I am a licensed minister. My faith has always been my foundation.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Malibu. I love the beach!
