Agent Snapshot: Ces Guerra, Real Estate Agent, Better Homes and Gardens Gary Greene, Tanglewood

Ces-Guerra

Ces Guerra is a real estate agent with Better Homes and Gardens Gary Greene working in Tanglewood.

What was your first job in the realty industry? An agent.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? My wife and I love to do adventure travels, hiking, scuba diving and skiing mainly!

Where did you grow up? New Orleans, La.; but I have lived in Houston since 1990.

Growing up, what did you want to be? An astronaut, because I always wanted to reach for the stars!

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? I’d love to have lunch with Sir Edmund Hilary, because he was an ultimate adventurer and was the first to summit Mt. Everest. Second choice would be Jacque Couseau.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? When I’m not traveling or cycling, I love to hang out at home.

What do you love most about the industry? I love helping people and providing the service they are looking for to navigate the complex process of home selling and home purchasing!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I truly have a servant’s heart, and I’m willing to do the things others won’t to be successful – in an honest and ethical way, of course.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Managing emotions can be a difficult process, but I maintain a calmness through out the process. I never panic.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I work closely with those that know me best and trust their contacts to me.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Academically, earning my MBA. Physically, reaching the base camp of Mt. Everest, and professionally running a successful real estate business.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? Movies have really gone down hill lately, so I would say Alex Berensen’s The Counterfeit Agent.

What is your favorite restaurant? Pappa’s Steakhouse – that was easy!

What kind of car do you drive? Hybrid SUV.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone.

What is your favorite city after Houston? New Orleans.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? Understand you must make the effort to learn and continue learning.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? HomeStory.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? I have many sports and literature users I follow and have too many to mention.

Having worked as a real estate broker and currently as a title rep, I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with MANY real estate agents over the last 12 years. I love working with Ces. He is truly a wonderful agent who always keeps his client’s best interest at the forefront of his mind.

I met, via phone and email, Ces when I was researching a climb of Mt Kilimanjaro. He was extremely helpful and generous with his time . . Providing much valuable information to me and my friends. Subsequently I had the privilege of trekking to Mt Everest base camp with Ces and his beautiful wife, Laura. Two things stand out from that trip. First, these are two of the most kind and hospitable people I know and second, Ces has the tenacity to work thru the most difficult situations. I can see where that would compliment his effectiveness as a Real Estate professional.
