What was your first job in the realty industry?
I started out as a leasing agent in an apartment complex – Oakwood Gardens.

Where did you grow up?
Corpus Christi, Texas.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
Walking my dog, Copper, with my husband, Chuck, in our beautiful neighborhood (Museum District).

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Yoga or view art.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
An English school teacher.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Mark Cuban, because he and I have a lot in common on the way we view corporate greed and the firing of loyal employees.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
Black Hole Coffee House.

What do you love most about the industry?
All the fabulous places that we have the pleasure of viewing/showing.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I have my beautiful dog’s photo on my sign – he is a show stopper!

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Allaying fears, keeping all personalities in check and closing the deal in a way that it results in a referral.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
Every minute of every day of my life is about networking – so everywhere!

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
Launching a successful online residential property tax evaluation service called IProtestMyValue.com, along with my husband Chuck and our partner, Kenneth Werther.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

What is your favorite restaurant?
I have lots. For now, I will name Phoenicia Specialty Foods – you can either enjoy the food there, take it home, or better yet, when the weather is nice and the music is playing, pack a picnic lunch and walk over to Discovery Green and enjoy!

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
St. Paul’s Church in the Museum District.

What kind of car do you drive?
Infiniti FX35.

Smartphone.

What is your favorite city after Houston?
San Francisco.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Learn to set boundaries and to say “NO.”
