Jules Heggenstaller Realtor, Jules Realty Group at Southern Star Realty

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate? Owning a micro clothing boutique. That was a learning curve.

Where did you grow up? Houston

Growing up, what did you want to be? I wanted to be an architect —  now I get to tour and stage homes while discovering all of their fabulous features.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Guided meditation and work more.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? The suffragettes. I’d love to hear, first-hand, of their perseverance.

What is Houston’s best kept secret? We have the best food on the planet. All cuisines, all the best of each.

\What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Finding the time for everything. This is why I am forming a group to spread the love!

What’s your best advice for generating new leads? My best advice for generating new leads is do what you are good at. Do you market well? Do you prefer to have leads call you from Zillow? Try several ways to get leads and continue doing what you do well and what produces results for you.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to? Podcasts — I love all podcasts and books on real estate.

What’s your favorite meal in Houston? Gringos Mexican Kitchen, my fave.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston? So many, but I’d have to say the Wells Fargo Plaza on Louisiana St.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job? Being held hostage by a red wasp on a client’s front porch. I am allergic to wasps and it flew in right as I approached the door and could not get in the property and had to wait for the wasp to leave while in the infamous Houston heat.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you? That I can be seriously funny — no really.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why? The Rocky Mountains are my favorite vacation spot. I love the cool, dry weather sometimes. The views are spectacular.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry? It’s a bell curve getting started but hang in there.

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media? I follow anything real estate and home décor related. I especially love HGTV.
