Agent Snapshot: Paige Baker REALTOR® and co-lead of The Baker Team at RORECO

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
The most interesting and rewarding job I had before real estate was working at a genetics and show cattle operation! I learned so much about myself and my work ethic. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

Where did you grow up?
I am a proud born and raised Houstonian!

Growing up, what did you want to be?
I have always loved animals, so when I was younger I wanted to be a veterinarian.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I love to workout! It releases all of the built up stress from throughout the day and gives me time to just zone out and mentally clear my head.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Christine Quinn! I love her Boss Babe attitude and how she carries herself. She’s unapologetically herself, and that’s something we can all strive to be.

What is Houston’s best kept secret?
All of the amazing restaurants! There are so many hidden gems all around this city.

What do you love most about the industry?
I love the amazing people we get to meet! The relationships we build with our clients is the most meaningful thing this industry has to offer.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
The delicate balance of my personal life and professional life. Being an entrepreneur it’s so easy to just never stop working and to never take time for yourself, because you know there are things that need to be done or there are things to do to continue bettering yourself.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Stay consistent! Being consistent wether that be with social media or cold calling is so important. At the end of the day you get out of things what you put into it.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to?
I’m currently reading “Fear Is Just a Four-Letter Word” by Tracy Tutor.

What’s your favorite meal in Houston?
I absolutely love the goat cheese at Local Table! You can never really go wrong with anything there.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
I love the Pennzoil Place!

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
The strangest thing that has happened to me would probably be homeowners and their family members hiding in the house during showings instead of leaving the property. Sometimes you never know what is behind closed doors.

What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?
I graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science degree in animal science with a focus in beef cattle production and planned on being a rancher and having my own cow-calf operation.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I absolutely love anywhere with a beach or a lake! Being around water is always so relaxing.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Always stay true to yourself!

Who are your favorite people to follow on social media?
Christine Quinn, Ryan Serhant, Tracy Tutor, Josh Flagg, Mauricio Umansky
