Home sales begin in Waller community with 2-acre homesites

by Emily Marek

Homes from Lakeview, a master-planned community in Waller, have hit the market. Four Houston-area builders are offering homes in the first phase of construction on homesites ranging in size from one to two acres.

David Weekley Homes is offering 10 floorplans priced from the $480,000s while K. Hovnanian Homes is offering eight floorplans priced from the $490,000s. Sitterle Homes and Jamestown Estate Homes will offer slightly larger floorplans, starting at $620,000 and $800,000, respectively.

“Because the lots are so large, the builders are able to offer very spacious one- and two-story floor plans,” said Peter Houghton, principal of Rooted Development, Lakeview’s developer. “It is very unusual in this market to see homesites up to two acres — even up to a single acre — in a master-planned community. We’re excited to bring something new to the market, especially in this region where most master-planned communities feature much smaller lots.”

The centerpiece of Lakeview is the 45-acre lake stocked for catch-and-release fishing, surrounded by nature trails and green spaces.

“Lakeview is designed to encourage people to get outside,” Houghton said. “Whether it’s in their own expansive backyard, walking along tree-lined pathways or enjoying kayaking at the lake or an afternoon at the playground, residents will find plenty to do.”
