New listings surpassed 2022 volumes during the week ended Aug. 28, according to the Houston Association of REALTORS® Weekly Activity Snapshot.

Realtors entered 2,828 properties into the Multiple Listing Service during the week, a 5.3% increase year over year. New listings are also up incrementally from the same week in 2019.

Pending listings, however, are down 12.1%, indicating that home sales won’t eclipse 2022 volumes again in the near future. Closings were down 5.9% during the week.

Consumer interest is still strong in Houston, though. With 34,884 property showings during the week, traffic was up 2% year over year. Listing views on HAR.com were also up 3.6%.
