Both new and active listings rose in Houston last month, according to the First Real Estate Snapshot of Houston from the Houston Association of REALTORS®.

Realtors entered 11,358 new listings into the Multiple Listing Service during September, a 7.6% increase year over year. That new round of properties fueled active listings, which increased by 5.4% with 24,944 active properties on the market during the month.

Meanwhile, the average listing price increased by 0.5% to $416,973. That’s slightly higher than last September, but well below the all-time high of $441,748 in May of this year.
