Agent Snapshot: Robin Bailey, Realtor, RE/MAX Associates NE, Kingwood

Robin-Bailey

Robin Bailey is a Realtor with RE/MAX NE working Kingwood.

What was your first job in the realty industry? I worked at a company called Trimm Real Estate in Birmingham Alabama in 1993 – that is when I got my license. I was only 23 years old. I was nominated Rookie of the Year in 1994.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed? Read, get on social media, take a walk, go to dinner at a nice restaurant with my family or friends.

Where did you grow up? Birmingham, Ala.

Growing up, what did you want to be? An actress.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why? Ronald Reagen. I feel I can relate to his viewpoints and his personality in some aspect. He was genuine and truly cared about “his” country and “his” people.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? My home, in my backyard with friends, because I don’t get to be there enough and I am out and about all day.

What do you love most about the industry? Make someone feel happy. They find the perfect home and they are excited and look forward to closing. When the client is happy, it seems like I am on a natural high for a while.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I have a personality that can relate to all levels of socio-economic backgrounds. I can relate to a person in a trailer home that is selling or buying and/or a million dollar plus prospect that is selling or buying.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? When someone backs out of a contract after the option period is over for no reason. Also the option period can sometimes be the worst part of the transaction.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? I have networked through my children’s activities most of my life. I have so many friends and acquaintances through the groups that they have been involved in that I don’t really “network” in any particular groups. I am very involved with church, and I have been a member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

What has been your greatest accomplishment? Making the RE/MAX Hall of Fame in 2009. Achieving the Chairmans Club in 2014. Raising two wonderful children, a daughter who just became an RN and a son who is a Freshman in high school that excels in sports and academics.

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read? American Sniper.

What is your favorite restaurant? Carrabas in Kingwood.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?  The old Enron building.

What kind of car do you drive? 2012 Cadillac SRX.

Smartphone or paper?  Smartphone.

What is your favorite city after Houston?  New York City.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?  Find a mentor that has been in the business and get coached.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?Waze (GPS alternative routes).

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter? Actors and music performers. They offer a part of their real lives on there that make them more fun and approachable.
