Urban Genesis announced the opening of the Warehouse District, a series of three midrise apartments consisting of over 500 units in downtown Houston. The first building, Artist, opened in February, while the remaining two buildings, Muse and Icon, are slated to open in May and August, respectively.

“Urban Genesis works tirelessly to expand housing options for our essential workforce,” CEO and Founder Matt Shafiezadeh said in a press release. “Residents of all income levels should be able to live in safe, thriving communities close to their employment. Bringing these neighborhoods within reach of workers earning modest incomes is our mission.”

The Warehouse District apartments are located within walking distance of the METRORail, providing renters with access to major employment hubs. Urban Genesis says the downtown location also allows many residents the ability to walk to work.

Half of the units are rent restricted and priced from $1,119 to $1,492 per month for applicants with an income range of $33,570 to $59,680. The other 50% of units are available to any renters, regardless of income, at rates that vary based on unit size, number of occupants and other factors.

Applications are now open to prospective residents.
