Construction technology startup HiveASMBLD and Commander Homes will build Gulf Shore Estates, a 3D-printed community in San Leon.

The 4.5-acre coastal community will feature 23 homes, made with eco-friendly materials using HiveASMBLD’s 3D construction technology. The homes, which will range from 1,100 to 2,100 square feet, will be durable, energy efficient and storm-resilient, structured to withstand wind over 200 miles per hour, according to a press release.

“Gulf Shore Estates is another example of HiveASMBLD’s commitment to the future of affordable and attainable residential housing,” said Co-CEO Tim Lankau. “3D-printing technology is dramatically reducing the cost of building homes while significantly accelerating construction timelines.”

Pricing will start at $325,000, with all residences including wind-rated windows, energy-efficient HVAC systems, LED lighting, water-efficient plumbing, advanced air sealing and roofs structured for solar panels.

“San Leon is a strategic, high-upside location for this type of 3D-printed development, with strong coastal lifestyle demand, attainable land pricing and limited new housing inventory,” added Steve Commander of Commander Homes. “Gulf Shore Estates is designed to meet the area’s growth, delivering resilient homes that will support the next generation of homeowners.”
