Christina De La Torre is a Realtor for Realm Real Estate Professionals in Cypress.

What was your first job in the real estate industry?
In 2002, I entered the realty industry as a full time as a go-getter real estate agent.

Where did you grow up?
I am a native Houstonian from the Southeast, Pasadena/Deer Park area. Now I reside in the Cypress area for the past six years.

What is your favorite free-time activity?
My husband and I have recently started attending a great Bible study on Saturdays which has become one of our favorite spiritual activities. I also enjoy outdoor activities as a family, such as going to the swimming pool, the beach and the park.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I love going to spinning class to relieve stress (shopping therapy is not too bad either). I’m not one to take naps or rest on the couch.

Growing up, what did you want to be?
As a child, I loved playing “office”, “school” and my favorite, “dress up”. So I guess you could say, I’ve always wanted to work with the public, in a professional setting, where I had to dress up and look my best…sounds like a Realtor to me.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I would love to have lunch with Eva Longoria. She is a Texas girl like myself. She is smart and very passionate about what she does, not to mention beautiful.

Where is your favorite place to hang out?
Love the scenery at CityCentre, lots of great restaurants too.

What do you love most about the industry?
The sky is the limit in this industry. But two of my favorite aspects are meeting new people and the independence the job offers.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
My Client Rating Experience says it all. I’m on top of every file from beginning to end. Communication is key. I go above and beyond for my buyers and sellers.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Balance. I want to be a 24 hour agent, but I need to always remind myself that God comes first, family comes second and career comes third.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients?
My go-to’s are Facebook, church, family, friends and past clients.

What has been your greatest accomplishment?
I think getting to a point in my life where I finally have some peace. There were a lot of struggles to get to where I am at today.

What was the last good movie you saw, or the last good book you read?
It was a movie my husband rented from the RedBox and I can’t even remember the name.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Cyclone Anaya’s and El Tiempo have some of my favorite Ceviches and Fish Tacos. I love seafood.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Houston?
Although I’m not a big football fan, I think Reliant Stadium is a pretty cool looking building.

What kind of car do you drive?
Lexus RX450 Hybrid…I love it.

Smartphone or paper?
Smartphone, of course.

What is your favorite city after Houston?
Austin. I love the hills and they have a beautiful downtown.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Get tons of training, you’ll need it.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
HAR App, it’s the only one I really use.

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?
I don’t have a Twitter, but if I did, I would follow anyone would give a word of encouragement and a daily dose of Jesus, such as Joel Osteen and Joyce Myers.
